countries and peoples affected by the tragedy that was Hurricane Melissa, as of writing, the
strongest hurricane to ever make landfall in &lt;a href="https://disasters.nasa.gov/what-we-do/disasters/disasters-activations/hurricane-melissa-2025"&gt;recorded history&lt;/a&gt;. It&amp;rsquo;s important for us to recognize
that not only is Hurricane Melissa the strongest hurricane on record, it likely is setting a new
precedent for the kinds of storms we in the Caribbean can expect to deal with in the coming years as
a direct result of &lt;a href="https://yaleclimateconnections.org/2025/10/climate-change-strengthened-hurricane-melissa-making-the-storms-winds-stronger-and-the-damage-worse/"&gt;anthropogenic climate change&lt;/a&gt;.
Is that scary? Yes. Fuck yes. But it&amp;rsquo;s real. It&amp;rsquo;s not fearmongering to follow the trends we&amp;rsquo;ve been
seeing and &lt;em&gt;expecting&lt;/em&gt; to see for the past several decades as primarily &amp;ldquo;first world&amp;rdquo; countries
continue to burn fossil fuels at rates that are both utterly unnecessary and actively deadly.&lt;/p&gt;</description></item></channel></rss>
