So this week, some interesting things happened that I have felt the impetus to write about in a more rigorous manner, so I’m currently working on something a bit meatier. Stay tuned for updates.
In the meanwhile, here’s some of the generally very heavy things I’ve been thinking about recently.
The Cornell gang rapists

The infamous screenshot of the Chi Phi fraternity snapchat wherein the victim of the Cornell gang rapists is referred to as “Free pussy” and none of the members are seen to take issue with this, but rather express their love of the fraternity in response to a naked display of misogyny and dehumanization of a woman and the reduction of her humanity to a “pussy”

Jacob Geller’s rape case

This one hurts personally because Jacob’s work has meant a lot to me over the years.
The Pope having some really good takes recently
In a strange twist of events, I agree with a sitting Pope on a key issue of the day. Crazy world.

A tweet by twitter user @Pontifex (Pope Leo XIV) that reads “In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.” The tweet was posted on October 2, 2026
